Swiss banking and brokerage house, Swissquote Bank Ltd, has informed about the launch of a financial information application for Apple TV on Thursday.
The application is designed to provide all the actual information from financial markets, like major indices or foreign exchange pairs, with recent news in it as well.
This application of Swissquote enable its clients to see the performance of different securities, while a lower banner provides the latest economic and financial news, which could have an impact on prices. As the company adds, interactivity and design were the major development drivers for the application.
The Swissquote Apple TV will run in the background, not to disturb the client. If he needs, he can zoom into any information that he needs and change globe rotation speed according to his interest.
Swissquote’s CEO, Marc Burki:
“The Apple TV application is in line with our plan to develop our digital offering and is the next step in our strategy of multi-media development.”
Swissquote’s CTO, Paolo Buzzi, adds:
“With this application we focused primarily on design and interactivity, two important aspects of connected TV. The application focuses on essential information, providing users with a clear vision of changes in the main financial markets around the world. It rounds out our mobile application offering and enables our clients to receive the latest financial news at all times.”
Swissquote is still a major technology player on the field since its founding and applications were the main focus. It was even the first banking and brokerage house to provide its own iPhone trading application in 2008 and an iPad application in 2010. Both were successful to bring higher number of downloads, with the iPhone application reaching 228,000 downloads and the iPade one with 90,700 downloads. Now they have become one of the most attractive from Swiss providers. Following the trend, Swissquote became the first bank also to launch an application for Apple Watch.
