First blockchain trade association has been launched in Japan and already 34 companies have participated on this project. Its objective is to help startups, working with blockchain technology to reaching their needed investments and wider cooperation in this sector.
This so-called Blockchain Collaborative Consortium has different kinds of companies in its portfolio (see below), from which we can mention Microsoft Japan or well-known ConsenSys, and other Japanese companies and startups.
The founding representative stated that their hopes are to boost cooperation over the industry together with information-sharing and increasing public awareness.
The Consortium President Yoichiro Hirano OF Infoteria Co., Ltd. announced during the press conference in Japan:
“Blockchain technology is not just at the heart of FinTech (Financial Technology) therefore gaining popularity, but it is about to contribute significantly to the evolution of information systems in just about every industry.”
The group added in a statement:
“We will coordinate with other blockchain organizations around the world. We will bring home what we learn from overseas, and as a leading country of blockchain technology, we will disseminate our expertise and experience globally.”
The establishment of the blockchain consortium comes in time when the Japanese government looks to solidify its regulatory position on digital currencies.
