Former Secret Service agent, expert on computer crime, Shaun Bridges has reached a plea deal with prosecutors, being accused of bitcoin embezzlement.

The accusation is related to embezzled $820,000 of bitcoin from Silk Road, an online drug marketplace. Bridges should submit his guilty please on August 31, according to court filings, charged with money laundering and obstruction of justice.

Bridges has been responsible for investigation of Silk road’s illegal activities, related to facilitation of narcotics sale and money laundering. The website has been seized by the US government and its owner Ross Ulbricht has been found guilty and got life imprisonment for his crimes. During this investigation, fully aware of the situation, he transferred the above-mentioned amount to his own accounts. Moreover, another Drug Enforcement Agent (DEA) Carl Force has been accussed of bitcoin-stealing and Ulbricht’s blackmailing.

According to report, Bridges used credentials from Curtis Green, Silk road’s employee for the transfer to  his personal account on Mt. Gox and later to Fidelity account via 8 transfers in 2013  and 2014. Then Green has been accussed by Bridges of stealing the bitcoins and the agent triggered “Dread Pirate Roberts” (DPR), Silk Road’s mastermind for a mudrer-for-hire on Green.
